cableScout® the software for your network management

One key feature of cableScout® is without question the option and ability to completely capture and administer all types, topologies and transmission technologies of both fibre optic and copper networks.

The basis of this comprehensive approach is that cableScout® was specifically developed for the management of complex outside plant telecommunications infrastructures. The benefits of this specialisation are clearly reflected in the system and in particular in its practical documentation, planning and management functions and in its fast processing speed. Already 300 network operators are now using cableScout® as a central management and information platform.

cableScout® includes a wide range of graphics functions and display formats which enable networks to be depicted in great detail, in full and very realistically. The database is easily populated through the graphic inputs which saves virtually all those laborious and error-prone list inputs.

This efficient work method is based on the in-house developed independent graphics module of cableScout®. Therefore there is no need to use complicated graphics programs such as AutoCAD®, Visio®, or GIS to display and edit telecommunications structures.

This independence provides the user with crucial benefits in terms of functional scope, administration and training costs and system speed. In addition, the fact that cableScout® is easy to learn and operate for employees means that it has a very high acceptance level, which is an important guarantor for the successful implementation of any stated objectives.

The main graphics in cableScout® are the geo-schematics, the network structure, the building view, the cabinet and component display, the connection views for physical and logical wiring plus the individually compilable schematic map. As is the case with all the functional modules within cableScout®, the graphics are all interconnected and update each other automatically. So if for instance a cable connection is reconnected, then this change will be reflected in the geo-schematics, the network structure, the connection graphics and the schematic map. This totally avoids those multiple inputs common in some other systems and therefore any inconsistencies due to different datasets will not occur.
